I like being part of the Abbeyfield family here in Turriff where we all help and look out for each other. We truly are a big hearted home and we have strong links with the local community here thanks to our fantastic Friends of Abbeyfield volunteers who do so much with us.
The residents appreciate the traditional meals I cook each day and I always spend a lot of time on my home baking – it always disappears quickly! Food is such an important social part of the day and it gives me great satisfaction to know that this is their “hame” and I’m playing my part in making life here enjoyable for everyone.
When I get a chance I like to chat to the residents, I especially love when they share stories from their younger days and times gone by. There’s always something new to learn about them and the different lives they led before joining us at the house here.
