Farewell Niall

Niall Patterson, CEO of Abbeyfield Scotland, has chosen to move on to new career “pastures” and expressed his thanks to staff and residents alike for the many opportunities he had been given to join in the life our Abbeyfield Houses in the past seven years. They had been some of the most rewarding and enjoyable parts of his work as CEO to Abbeyfield Scotland.

Niall believes that Abbeyfield Scotland (and its new subsidiary Crandeen) have a bright future.  He said the stability we have managed to achieve here is a strong foundation to further develop our expertise in, and support for, care and services for people in later life.  None of that would have been possible without the support and enthusiasm of staff and Board members as well as residents and volunteers / Friends.”  He added “the organisation will be in the good hands of Karen Barr as Interim CEO from April.”  He wished Karen the very best and everyone good health and happiness.

Karen Barr said “it is an absolute pleasure to take over the reins of Abbeyfield Scotland.  I have been here since day one and it never fails to amaze me the dedication and drive of our staff who have achieved tremendous results over the years, notably the high satisfaction level of our residents.”  Karen thanked Niall for his undying dedication to Abbeyfield over the last seven years.  She said he would be missed by all of us and wished him well in whatever he did in the future.
