Addressing Age and Social Isolation
Addressing Age and Social Isolation – our thoughts.
Abbeyfield Scotland has submitted its views on the matter to Holyrood’s Equal Opportunities Commission.
MSPs have heard how loneliness impacts on the physical and mental health of our Scotland’s younger and its older people. We contributed our own thoughts on what can and is being done, by Abbeyfield Scotland and by others to combat social isolation and its effects on older people.
We are glad that the case for addressing the needs of the “whole person”, for so long integral to the Abbeyfield ethos, is getting a good hearing by those in a position to help us and others tackle loneliness.
