Residents at Greenock receive laptops to stay connected this Christmas.
Through The National Lottery Community Fund, Your Voice (Inverclyde) has provided Chromebooks to residents at Abbeyfield Greenock House.
Nance Smith, Chair at Abbeyfield Scotland, explained: ‘Many people have been left feeling isolated and alone during the COVID pandemic, with much of the elderly community not having access to technology or training. These Chromebooks provided by Your Voice will allow our residents at Abbeyfield Greenock the opportunity to stay connected with loved ones this Christmas’.
Sean McFarlane from Your Voice, who won the National Association of Link Workers Social Prescriber of the year award, presented residents with the laptops. He stated: ‘We are delighted to provide Abbeyfield residents with Chromebooks today, made possible by The National Lottery Community Fund. A key objective of our SPRING and Community Connector projects is to increase people’s overall health and well-being. We really hope these devices allow residents to connect virtually with family, friends, and even GP consultations this winter’.
